Why we Love College Football
So about 2 hours from the Badgers kicking off the 2011 season and here we are. I am sure that as I write this most of you are out in Madison doing what you all do best. Some of us aren't in Madison tonight, some of us aren't even in the state. Nevertheless, we all get to watch the Badgers string UNLV from the goalposts tonight under the ever-reassuring lights of Camp Randall. It is a great day, no matter where you are and no matter what you are doing. There is something about a gameday in Madison that I am ill-equipped as a writer to describe. Listen to SVP for a more eloquent description.
There is something sweet about waking up at the frat and rolling down to taggert's to grab a Breakfast Sandwhich in the same transaction you get a 30-rack. Cracking that first beer, tasting piss. Cracking that third beer, tasting like the nectar of the Gods. Cracking the rest of the beers in a fog of bags and beerbongs. Eating...maybe. The blazing hot mornings soon turn into windy fall afternoons. "College Football is Back" A sea of red welcomes teams as they enter the House of Pain. Linemen cruising through defenses. RUSSELL WILSON. Running the ball. Running. Run. Run. PASS. Run. TD.
The simple truth is that nothing beats gamedays. Of the 1,400 plus days I lived in Madison, 30 of the best were on Saturdays in the fall. These Nebraska fans are excited about Madison. Nowhere else. They want to go to Madison. There is no place like Madison on a Gameday when you are a student. No place. Enjoy the atmosphere boys, I will be watching from behind enemy lines. See you in a month.
Fuck em Bucky.

NFL Free Agency
The lockout pushed back the free agency period so when it came to an end shit went down. Now that most of the dust has settled we can take a closer look at how each team fared. Notably, the Iggles signing Nnamdi and Jenkins, McNabb to the Vikings, Sydney Rice's head scratching move to Seattle, the Packers chillin, Barber to the Bears, John Clay a Steeler, etc.
Free agency. What say you?

Disciples Fantasy Football
So, myself, j-webb and chris gotti were in classic form at chasers last night when we began to discuss the first annual disciples of dayne fantasy football league. After careful deliberation on the matter we decided on starting a keeper league, and more importantly, that the name of the most coveted trophy in fantasy sports shall be... The Dale. Named after the most legendary man to ever walk the earth. Boom Bitches

Big Ten Football
This morning on Mike and Mike they talked about a recent Big Ten Preview article (they blocked ESPN at work so I'm handcuffed a bit right now but I can find it). Apparently it has the Badgers picked to win the Leaders and the Huskers winning the Legends. It also mentions a poll of best coaches in the Big Ten with Bielema edging Ferentz for the top spot.
Last evening on the Badger Hour on ESPN Radio (FM 100.5) they were discussing how unrealistic the National Championship talk was for this team. They argued that National Champions have nasty defenses and they cited the '03 OSU, LSUs d-line, USCs linebackers and several others as examples. We all know that Wisconsin is doing an awesome job recruiting and developing on the offensive side but it seems that the defense is not keeping pace. It seems every year that only one guy on the defensive side of the ball is drafted high in the NFL (Watt, Levy, e.g.). If you look at past National Champions this number is closer to three or four.
There is no doubt Wilson and the offense are going to score points, but can the Badger defense put them in the top five of the BCS? Having Borland back will be a huge help but I would like to see a couple more studs emerge on defense. What do you think about the Badgers coming into this year?

Baseball Predictions
There are still about 60 games to play this season but it is never too soon to take inventory on our teams. How do we think our teams have done so far this season? What do you think the next 60 games will be like? Would you like to see your team make a trade before the end of the season? Let the games begin...
Welcome, Gentlemen
This is the first post of what I hope becomes a great blog. I created this as a forum for us to talk sports, talk shit, and get away from work or school for awhile. This can be as good as we make it. The more we follow and post, the better this site will be.
I plan on posting a general topic to spark discussion at least once a week. Let me know if any of you want would like to become contributors as well and I will gladly make you an administrator. I encourage everyone to post or comment as much as they can. This blog will be valuable in staying in touch and planning things such as the Rose Bowl/National Championship trips and the First Annual Disciples of Dayne Fantasy Football Draft in Las Vegas (we're doing it...). Spread the word to any of your friends that may enjoy talking sports with the bros. First discussion topic will be posted shortly...
